Sarah Broadhead
Sarah is a psychologist with over 20 years’ experience of maximizing performance at the highest level in elite sport and business. She is passionate about helping people perform at their best and thrive in the process. Sarah specialises in coaching high potential individuals and developing high performing teams.
Background
In 2000 Sarah qualified as an Occupational Psychologist and psychometric tester. She gained a place on the PriceWaterhouseCoopers graduate scheme where she successfully completed the Association of Tax Technicians tax and accountancy exams and worked with a variety of corporate clients. Sarah is passionate about helping people develop, leading her to join a team of Occupational Psychologists at a consultancy firm. She ran assessment and development centers for high potential individuals and delivered coaching for executive and C-suite members.
Sarah has a passion for sport and joined the Great Britain Taekwondo team in 2009. She was their psychologist at both London and Rio Olympic Games, where the team exceeded its ambitious medal target. As part of the management team, Sarah created a culture for athletes and staff to perform at the highest level; this included coaching Jade Jones to gold in successive Olympic finals and designing and delivering a mental health and wellbeing programme for the team. She has worked with several teams including GB Triathlon, GB Canoeing, British swimming, UK athletics, motorsport, European tour golf and Women’s football. She recently authored a book called “Perform and Thrive. A sportsperson’s guide to mental health and wellbeing.”
Sarah was part of the team of directors that created Chimp Management Ltd. with Professor Steve Peters (author of The Chimp Paradox) and helped shape the vision of the company. Sarah was the director of sport and managed a team of psychologists working in Olympic and Professional sport. She was supervised by Steve and gained an in-depth knowledge of how the mind works from a neuroscientific perspective.
Sarah is passionate about helping people to be the best they can be through an understanding of how the mind works. Wellbeing is an area Sarah understands the importance of, and the impact it can have physically and mentally if it is neglected. She is experienced at helping senior leaders to manage this effectively.
